It not only focuses on the rudimentary skills involved with adventuring outside but engrains the confidence needed to enjoy the outdoors safely. Hug a Tree & Survive

This AdventureSmart Program is aimed at children 5-12 years of age and is an exciting and fun way to learn valuable skills relating to surviving in the outdoors — we teach children the do’s and dont’s should they find themselves lost outdoors. 

The program focuses on 4 simple, easy to remember and fun aspects of surviving outdoors 

Tell an adult where you are going
If you are lost, “Hug A Tree” and stay put
Keep warm and dry
Help searchers find you by answering their calls

 
 
 
 
 

Survive Outside 

This AdventureSmart program is aimed at novice outdoor enthusiasts and anyone ages 12 and older. This program is designed to compliment your basic outdoor skills while focusing on the Three T’s — Trip Planning, Training and Taking Essentials. 

Furthermore to this, the program is designed to teach how the Canadian Search & Rescue system works, how to alert us and what to expect.
